Daniela Alfaro is an Economist and holds a Master´s Degree from the National University of Uruguay (UDELAR). Former Editor for Latin-American of Puentes/ ICSTD. She currently advises the Minister of Agriculture of Uruguay on WTO issues. Daniela is Professor of Trade and Agricultural Development at ORT-Uruguay University and Lecturer at the Agriculture Module of the WTO Regional Trade Policy Course for LAC government trade officials. Member of the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition for the United Nations Committee (2015-16). Daniela was Policy Advisor and Secretary for the President and the Board of the CGIAR from 2010 to 2015. She has worked as consultant for a range of regional and international organizations, such as World Bank, IDB, ECLAC, FAO, ICTSD and others. She is author of a number of publications related to international trade reform, trade and sustainable development, intellectual property, digital innovations and agricultural trade, food security and nutrition.
