In December 2015, Mariano Mayer was appointed as the National Secretary for Entrepreneurs and Small & Medium Enterprises, which belongs to the Minister of Production. In September 2013 he was appointed as the Head of the General Direction of Entrepreneurship of Buenos Aires City, which belongs to the Undersecretary of Creative Economy, both established as part of the new "Innovation Plan" for the City.
Mr. Mayer received his master’s degree in corporate Law and conducted postgraduate studies on the topic of Patents at Austral University of Argentina, and studied corporate finance at the CEDEF. He is a professor of entrepreneurship and has served as judge in various business project-related contests in the sector. From 2011 to 2013, he was a partner in the Study Tanoira Cassagne, where he developed his activities in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property and Agribusiness. In the past, he was a member of the Study Uriburu & Bosch and Semi-Senior Partner of the Entrepreneurship Department.
In 2014 during the 2015 GEC in Milan, the City of Buenos Aires was announced as the winner of the GEC Cities Challenge, because of a rapidly expanding startup ecosystem and innovative policies designed to support the growth of its entrepreneurs.
